NIAGARA WAREHOUSE of HOPE

Hope for Education

Thanks to area schools and colleges, The Niagara Warehouse of Hope collects surplus desks, tables, chairs, blackboards, computers, printers, books and administrative equipment and supplies for shipment to schools in the developing world. In some cases construction equipment and materials have helped build complete schools. The 40-foot containers of supplies are enthusiastically welcomed by teachers and young students who previously learned their lessons sitting on rough wooden planks, and working with crude chalkboards held on their laps.

Many schools in Haiti are assisted with used equipment and furnishings collected and shipped to them by the Niagara Warehouse of Hope. Father Denis Warburton (left), who has helped the Sisters of the Holy Cross in Cap Haitien establish a teacher's college, examines a group of used student desks, assisted by volunteer Fred Langelaan.
