Hello
everyone,
I
am here in Guatemala City and we´re sitting in a hostel where
a lady is in charge of 6000 poor children. We´re having An
amazing time. The Poverty in so shocking where we are in the city,
but where we are camping in the mountains is even worse. I went
to our camp yesterday to deliver the trucks and the trailers so
we don´t have such a haul on Monday. We are set to go for
tomorrow morning and the new missionaries have already arrived.
Ted´s mother is here now.
They arrived on the same plane that my dad flew out on. It´s
sad to see Dave and Rob go because we´ve become such a family.
I´ve really come to know all the people we have travelled
with. The place we are going to stay in, the campo, is amazing.
We are on the top of a huge mountain that overlooks surrounding
mountains. I can really see it becoming my home. I have to say that
even though this place would be looked down on through the eyes
of us westerners, I can easily make it my home. I love the people,
I love the land and I love what I have been led to do. I can´t
wait to set up camp and start our mission. I will be drilling on
Wednesday for the first hole. The people we saw yesterday we so
happy that we arrived.
They were all shaking my hand and telling me Gracias and Dios Bedica
which means God Bless. Tears come to my eyes when I think of their
faces in my mind. I´m so excited to be here and nothing but
love is inside of my heart when I imagine what we are about to give
them. When the rainy season is finished, they drink out of a swamp
(laguna) that is peed in by cows and drinken out of by all of the
animals.
You can imagine the amount of bacteria there is in the water. The
rain is becoming less (Poco uvia) and soon the dryness will come.
I ask only prayers from all of you whop read this. We are going
through so much shock lately and it´s very emotional. Please
pray for all of us. Jolien is doing wonderful! She says hello to
you as well. Thanks for your support,. Have a wonderful day and
a great fall. Speak to you soon. Hasta la vista!
